As a Master Barber, You Are a Cut Above the Rest!


The American Barber Association recognizes barbers who have been actively practicing the craft of barbering for at least 7 years or have been designated by their State as a “Master Barber.”     Masters Barbers are exemplary in professionalism and skill level.    The Master Barber Certificate is only available for members of the ABA.


To be eligible to be designated a Master Barber you must 1) be qualified – have practiced at least for seven years or have been designated a Master Barber by your State (if such a designation is available); 2) be a Master Barber Member of the ABA.   To become a member, please click on the link below.

Master Barbers are considered the standard of barbering in the barber industry.    Master Barbers are in high demand at barbershops and they have higher earning potential.

Industry Recognition

Master Barber are recognized by the industry as experts in barbering.  The American Barber Association refers media to Master Barbers for perspectives on industry trends and developments.   Master Barbers are eligible to be nominated as a “Best in America Master Barber” Award.
